Our classes are structured so that students will also learn about self-discipline, respect to peers and adults, and even team work! We work on developing every students individual skills, so that they become more confident in their abilities to overcome challenges.
Goal setting also plays a favorable role in our curriculum as students will learn how to stay focused when progressing up the ranks in our school - a skill that is paramount for everyday life.
Lastly, we use positive reinforcement in all of our classes in order to get the best out of every student - a highly recommended teaching method practiced in our educational system.
Our Mission
To inspire students by building confidence in their ability to overcome obstacles and accomplish personal goals with strength and courage.
Our style
In 1934, Hironori Ohtsuka Sensei founded the Japanese martial art, Wado-Ryu Karate-Do. He combined Shindo Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu and the Okinawan art, Shotokan to create, Wado - a very fluid, yet powerful form of Karate. Ohtsuka Sensei believed that “violent actions may be understood as the way of martial arts, but the true meaning of martial arts is to seek and attain the way of peace and harmony.” This is why he named the style, Wado - meaning “way of peace” or “way of harmony”. Also, because of Ohtsuka Sensei’s influence in the sport, Wado-Ryu is one of four styles that the Japan Martial Arts Federation has officially recognized as traditional Karate.
