5th Annual Holiday Party & Award Banquet
With Thanksgiving on the abnormally 4th week of November, The Dojo of Karate
has had a challenge in scheduling and finding a location for our Holiday Party and Award Banquet this year.
As many of you know, once Thanksgiving hits, it's all down hill as far as activities & events because many of our families are doing Christmas shopping, attending company parties, or simply trying to get away from all the madness.
So, this year we will be having our Holiday Party and Award Banquet on Friday, November 22nd from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM
at the Good News Church
on 136th & Sheridan.
The actual address is:
Good News Church
5511 W. 136th Ave.
Broomfield, CO 80020
This will be catered by Qdoba Mexican Grill and the cost per person will be approximately $13-$14.
We know many of you will be leaving on Friday or Saturday the 22nd or 23rd for Thanksgiving, which is great, but if you are able to join us, we would love to have your family attend our appreciation party.
What We Do During The Holiday Party
If you are new to The Dojo of Karate
and are not too familiar with our Holiday Party and Award Banquet, let me share what goes on.
Twice a year, The Dojo of Karate throws two community events, one in the Summer
and one in the Winter, that allows our students, parents, family members to get together and chat, catch up, or simply make new friends. This has been a tradition we've been doing for since 2009, when our karate school began to flourish.
During the Holiday Party and Award Banquet, we have now outgrown the "potluck" style we once enjoyed a few years ago, and now have moved towards a catered event from a local restaurant.
We also do an Award Ceremony for "Best in..." categories. This is The Dojo of Karate's way to recognize students for their achievements in various accomplishments throughout the year. And, winners of an award will get a plaque that they can hang on their wall.
When I was younger, at my Karate dojo in Nashville, TN I would look forward to our Holiday Party, as it was a way to get recognized in front of your peers and simply hangout with friends and family. I was also fortunate to have won a few awards, which I still display in my dojo.
Again, on Friday, November 23rd, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Good News Church on 136th Ave. and Sheridan Blvd, The Dojo will have their 5th Annual Holiday Party and Award Banquet.
We look forward to seeing you guys there!
