This past weekend Master Instructor Javier Lozano, Jr. went to Merrit Island, Florida to get certified as a Level 1 Instructor in the Self-Defense Black Belt Program created by Mike Massie. The certification testing required all Black Belt Instructors of the licensed program to go over required self-defense techniques and perform them with precession and skill under the supervision of Mike Massie, a 5th Degree Black, Self-Defense expert, and National Director of the Martial Arts School Alliance International. Sensei Javier Lozano, Jr. has been training in classical Japanese Wado Karate, a combative traditional art of fighting and self-defense. He currently holds the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt with 19 years of training and teaching in the Martial Arts. By being certified as a Level 1 Self-Defense Instructor, this allows Sensei Lozano to continue to teach students interested in learning real world, applicable self-defense that is not complicated. His students are gaining some of the most efficient self-defense moves and combinations that will give them a fighting chance to protect themselves in traumatic situations. The beauty about the new Self-Defense Black Belt Program offered at The Dojo of Karate is that ANYONE can do it. Many traditional arts and systems require time and extensive training to just get a good grasp of the basics of striking, kicking, and blocking. In addition, if you train in The Dojo of Karate's self-defense program, you will also improve your health by implementing cardiovasular workouts by executing fighting combinations on free standing bags, partners, or focus mitts. This not only improves muscle memory, but also begins to create skill -- allowing you to have the confidence to defend yourself in any given situation. We will be having pictures of last weekends training soon.
