Confidence, focus, determination, and perseverance are just a few of the Black Belt characteristics our students gain when breaking boards.
The Dojo of Karate will be hosting their annual Board Breaking Karate Seminar on Friday, March 15th at 5:30 PM.
This is a great opportunity for students to learn how to break boards, while developing confidence, focus, perseverance, and determination.
Students at The Dojo of Karate don’t need to have experience in breaking boards, just the enthusiasm to learn how to break a board.
Sensei Lozano will take the time to teach students how to break boards with various Karate techniques, including a hammer fist strike, straight punch, palm strike, stomp kicks, side kicks, elbow strikes, and knee strikes.
While, it may be a bit intimidating for a Karate student to break a board with their hand or foot, but with a little focus, determination, and understanding how to use a specific Karate technique — students should be successful in breaking these boards.
In addition, parents have shown great joy in watching their child(ren) face their fears in breaking a board and actually succeeding and getting through the wood.
Though some boards may be tougher to break, then others — ultimately the Board Breaking Karate Seminar is designed to help teach students how various Karate techniques can be used in action.
The cost of the Board Breaking Karate Seminar is as followed:
Black Belt Club Member – $40
Non-Black Belt Club Member – $50
This will give each student 10 boards to break in about 90 minutes or until all the wood is broken.
There will be various stations, depending on age, size, and belt where students will be lined up with classmates and approach the front of the station to perform a break.
The Dojo of Karate will need parent volunteers to monitor each station to help encourage and guide students in breaking a board.
At the end of the Board Breaking Karate Seminar, students are encouraged to take home their broken boards to showcase their successes to friends and family members.
