Martial Arts Bio

Javier Lozano Jr has over 22 years of martial arts experience, including a World Championship

Javier Lozano, Jr. started his Martial Arts career at the age of 10 in Nashville, Tennessee at David Deaton Karate Studios. Since than, he has been training in the Martial Arts for over 22 years with over 18 years of professional instruction.

Sensei Lozano obtained his 1st Dan Black Belt in Wado-Ryu Karate-Do in February 1994 at the age of 13, and by February 1996 he advanced to 2nd Dan Black Belt. He later than earned his 3rd Dan Black Belt 10 years later at the age of 25 in October 2006. His certifications have all been through U.S. Eastern Wado-Ryu Karate Do Federation.

Mr. Lozano has been fortunate to train under the watchful eyes of former World Champion David Deaton — owner and Chief Instructor of David Deaton Karate Studios. His former sensei, Wayne Tyler is also a former NASKA World Champion Fighting, Weapons, and Forms competitor.

When Sensei Lozano moved to Colorado to attend college at the University of Colorado, he began training and teaching at a local Tae Kwon Do school, Denver Karate Academy, in Lakewood, Colorado for 3 years. There, he helped shape and mold future Colorado State Champions in Sport Karate.

As a Professional Sport Karate competitor, Javier traveled throughout the United States, winning numerous national tournaments in Forms and Fighting competition between the ages of 15 and 23 years old. He excelled in Fighting, and began to pursue a more focused career in Sport Karate fighting.

In 2000, he won a World Title in fighting by the North American Sport Karate Association (NASKA), and a Colorado State Championship in the adult fighting divisions under the Colorado Karate Association (CKA)in 2001.

Currently, Sensei Lozano holds a 1st Dan Black Belt with the JKF Wadokai and his current teacher is Sensei Bob Nash, a 7th Dan Black Belt with the JKF Wadokai and chief instructor of Guseikai USA.

Professional Bio

Javier graduated in May 2004 from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder, with a B.S.B.A. in business and an emphasis in Entrepreneurship.

He has traveled all over North America and ventured for a 3 month journey to Western Europe to experience cultural differences.
