Clients rave about our 6-hour Self-Defense Workshop, and can’t wait to sign up for the next session.

When Is The Women Self-Defense Workshop?

The Dojo of Karate will be kicking off the New Year with their first Women Self Defense Workshop of the year on Saturday, January 19th from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.  This is a 6-Hour training course that will be hosted every 3-4 months, depending on the demand.  So, if you miss this upcoming session, we’ll keep you updated when the next one will take place.

We are located in the Safeway Shopping Center in Westminster, CO on the corner of 128th Ave. and Zuni St.

How Much Does It Cost?

For a 6-Hour Women Self-Defense Course that will take you through our entire Beginners Level I Empty Hand Self-Defense Curriculum, we charge $150 per person or $100 per person if you bring a friend.

However, we want to ring in the New Year, with a unique special.  If you pre-register before Saturday, January 19th, we’ll allow you to reserve your spot for only $75 per person — that’s a 50% discount from our normal workshop fee!

But to reserve your spot, you need to pre-register, otherwise, you will not be guaranteed a space for the 6-Hour Women Self-Defense Workshop.

You can fill out the form on the right side of this screen, and we’ll send you an email with a safe and secure PayPal Link, so you can pre-register for the workshop.

Learning reality-based self-defense will teach you proper skills to stop an attacker

 Who Can Register?

All adult females can register for the Women Self-Defense Workshop.

Whether or not you’re a client of The Dojo of Karate, all females over the age of 18 years old will be eligible to participate in this 6-Hour Workshop.

However, since The Dojo of Karate wants to offer the best instruction possible, we are limiting our session to ONLY 20 participants.

NOTE: Participants must be a minimum of 18 years old to attend, and will need to sign a waiver of liability.

Why Are You Hosting A Women Self-Defense Workshop?

A couple of reasons…

  1. After having such successful Women Self-Defense Workshops in the past, clients and prospects have been requesting for a follow-up session at the beginning of the year, after the Holidays.
  2. The Dojo of Karate wants to help give back to the community by offering residents of Broomfield, Westminster, Thornton, and other surrounding areas the opportunity to learn effective, simple, and exciting self-protection skills.  Especially after the tragic events that have taken place in Colorado last year.

We try to host between 3 – 4 workshops per year, at our facility because we have ample training space, state-of-the art training equipment, and some of the best self-defense instruction in the area.

Who Will Be Teaching This Seminar?

Javier Lozano, Jr. is the Owner / Head Instructor of The Dojo of Karate.  He holds the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt — so you will be learning from one of the most qualified self-defense instructors in your community. He has over 22 years of Martial Arts experience, including more than 19 years of teaching knowledge.

Javier is also a former professional athlete, winning a NASKA World Championship Title and CKA Colorado State Champion Title, both in fighting.

In addition, Javier is a Certified Level II Self-Defense Instructor with one of the leading self-defense organizations in the country, and a Certified Child Safety Instructor — one of the few instructors officially certified in the State of Colorado.

What Do I Wear?  What Do I Bring?

Please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing that allows you to move in a natural manner – whether from a standing position or on the floor.  You will be learning tactical skills on heavy bags, focus mitts, shields, and other training equipment.  As well as learning how to escape from various grabs, chokes and holds, from either the standing position or on the ground.  So, you will need to make sure you have comfortable clothing to allow you to perform correctly.

Be sure to bring some water and snacks, and a packed lunch to stay hydrated and energized because you will also get a solid workout during the seminar.  No wall-flowers!

If you prefer to go to Subway for a sandwich or Safeway for various other foods, feel free to do so.  We will be taking a 30 minute lunch break at the half-way mark of our workshop, which is about noon, and periodic 5 minute breaks between sections of the workshop.

Also, bring paper and pen to write down notes, as you will have quite a bit of information presented to you.  You will be provided a study sheet that will help you jog your memory, but additional notes will assist in making the information taught stick in your head.

What Will I Learn During The Women Self-Defense Workshop?

We can’t go into too much detail about the workshop, but you can expect to learn how an attacker thinks when selecting their victims, how to execute proper self-defense techniques that is proven to injure or slow-down an attacker when performed properly, how to escape from various grabs, chokes, and hold from dominant positions, and how to defend yourself from different assault positions.

However, the most important thing to remember is that these self-defense moves are easy to perform, and almost anyone can do it.

So, don’t feel like you need to have some sort of “advanced skills” or be in great shape to learn self-defense.  This course is for anyone wanting to gain more confidence and knowledge in defending themselves in almost any given situation.

We will be teaching you the Beginners Level I Curriculum of Empty Hand Self-Defense.  We’ve simply condensed the information into a 6-Hour session, which benefits you more.
