Broomfield Karate Testimonial

Two of our teenage students, Scott & Jon B., give us their thoughts about training at The Dojo of Karate in the Teens and Adult class under Master Instructor Javier Lozano, Jr.

Broomfield Adult Self Defense

The Dojo of Karate offers one of the best self-defense programs available today.  We are a licensed facility of the Self-Defense Black Belt Program under Master Mike Massie – creator and founder.

In the Self-Defense Black Belt Program you will learn reality based self-defense that is easy to learn, with fast results.  And, you don’t need to have any experience in Martial Arts.  Our curriculum is designed to help grow your skills and confidence by performing techniques in various manners — creating muscle memory.

The Self Defense Black Belt Program is designed for you, the common person looking to learn how to protect you and your family.  We understand you have a full-time job, a family, and a social life – therefore we have classes structured 2 days per week.  However, if you desire to train more, we can create a program that suites your training needs.

All classes are taught by World Champion Javier Lozano, Jr.  He has nearly 20 years of Martial Arts experience, holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Wado Karate and is a Level One Certified SDBBP and Fighting Fit2 Instructor.

Self-Defense and Boot Camp Certification

In mid November, I went to Merritt Island, Florida for my Level 1 Certification of Mike Massie’s new Self-Defense Black Belt Program and Fighting Fit2 Boot Camp Fitness Program.

The training was 2 1/2 days worth of self-defense, fitness, and marketing.  Mike Massie went over the curriculum for the adult Self-Defense Program by explaining many of the techniques move-by-move, and allowing us to ask questions during the process.

Our training on Saturday went from 9am to 6:30pm with about 1 1/2 hour lunch break… which was well needed.  We covered everything  from basic jab / crosses, to defense against head kicks, defense against rear naked chokes, defense against head locks, defense against wrist grabs, and grappling defense — from the mount and guard position.

After the training session, many of the participants went to get dinner, while I stayed in Orlando with my younger sister to celebrate her birthday.

The following day, we went through a Fighting Fit2 Boot Camp class which lasted about 1 1/2 hours, since Mike wanted to cover various exercises and alternative ways to perform them.

Talk about a killer workout.  You couple the intense, yet exciting Boot Camp with a nutrition plan geared to work, you’re bound to lose weight.

I started the nutrition plan that Mike Massie put together back in September and I ended up losing about 25 pounds in about 6 weeks.  I have not weighed 190 lbs since I was fighting professionally in Sport Karate.  I was about 20 at the time…

At the conclusion of the seminar, all licensed instructors got their Level One Certification in the Self Defense Black Belt Program and Fighting Fit2 Boot Camp.  A great accomplishment for myself and others, to this date.

Below are some pictures of the weekend.  My training partner, for the most part was Gary, but Mike ended up picking on me quite a bit, since I was closest to his height…

Enjoy the video!

And, if you’re interested in learning REAL self-defense that is easy to learn and gives you results in 3-4 months, I suggest you visit us at:

Not to toot my own horn, but I’ve been training for nearly 20 years in the Martial Arts, teaching for over 15 years, currently hold a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Wado Karate, and won a World Championship title in fighting.  My classes are exciting, informative, and hard — you’ll get a workout!

Until Next Time…

Broomfield Karate School Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Westminster — December 7th, 2009 — The Dojo of Karate is one of Westminster’s newest thriving businesses that teaches Traditional Karate, Modern Self-Defense, and Fitness Classes to the community of Broomfield, Westminster, and Thornton.

In September, 2009 school owner and master instructor, Javier Lozano Jr decided to join the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce as a way to help continue to grow his business and network with other prospering small business owners in the community.

By joining the Broomfield Chamber, The Dojo has been able to attend a few chamber events and participate in Broomfield’s largest community event — Broomfield Days.

In addition to the numerous formats of networking events and unique marketing ideas the Broomfield Chamber offers, The Dojo of Karate was allowed to have their 1st Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on December 3rd, 2009. Keep in mind that The Dojo opened their doors in August 2008, and never had an official Ribbon Cutting, rather a grand opening event. This gave Sensei Lozano an opportunity to take advantage of the chamber’s way of promoting and public relations with the community and putting The Dojo on the map in Broomfield.

During the ribbon cutting event, many chamber members and ambassadors attended this special day, to help support local businesses and create a sense of community.

All new or established businesses part of the chamber are allowed to have one Ribbon Cutting event to help promote their business to the public. This is also a great way to network and get to know other chamber members.

Sensei Lozano and The Dojo of Karate would like to give special thanks to all chamber members and ambassadors for attending this special day. We appreciate your support and wish you all a Happy Holidays.
